Well, I know I have been quiet for the last few weeks. After getting the season finale of LTM 2K done, I wanted to step back and recuperate. Now that I have regained my zeal for exploring new things, I thought I would share the new effort I am undertaking.
About a month ago, I got it in my head that I wanted to play music again. I used to be a pretty good saxophonist once upon a time. I played for 4 years around the time I was in middle school. I was in classes above my age group and almost always first chair. But something went awry. I became fearful of auditioning for the high school bands. For some reason, I believed I wasn’t good enough. I think it had to do with my difficulty understanding improvisation in Jazz, where blank lines are marked with chords. I didn’t know enough about chords.
Instead of going back to the saxophone, I wanted to learn the guitar. It is a nice, well-rounded instrument that can play all sorts of genres. So, I asked my mom for her guitar and took it to the shop to get it cleaned and fixed up. All this happened around the time of the season finale, so when I took a break from LTM for a few weeks, I also took a break from practicing the guitar. Now, I am back.
